1. Register with a Local Doctor (GP)
To use most NHS services you should register with a local GP practice. Without registration it may be harder to get non emergency care.
What to do: Use the NHS find a GP search to look for surgeries near your address. Choose one, read how they accept new patients and complete their registration form online or on paper.
What do you need: You need your address details and basic personal information, and some practices also ask for ID or proof of address.
Outcomes: You will be registered with a GP so you can book routine appointments and receive referrals when needed.
Lifehack: If one practice does not accept new patients, try others nearby and ask to be added to a waiting list if this option exists.
