1. Check mobile coverage for your postcode
Mobile signal can change a lot between streets and buildings. A cheap plan is not helpful if you have weak coverage at home or work.
What to do: Open the Ofcom mobile coverage checker and enter your postcode. Look at the map and table to see which networks have good indoor and outdoor signal in your area.
What do you need: You need your full postcode and the names of any mobile networks you want to compare.
Outcomes: You will know which providers are more likely to give you a stable signal where you live and travel.
Lifehack: Check coverage for both home and work so you do not choose a network that only works well in one place.
2. Order a pay as you go SIM first
3. Choose home broadband if you will stay longer
